Great Sierra American River Cleanup 2019
Saturday, September 21, 2019, 8 AM – Noon and Confluence Historic Bridges Hike at 9 AM ASRA & PARC, partnering with the Sierra Nevada Conservancy to Keep Our Sierra Rivers Clean & Safe! Free Parking at the Confluence Saturday, September 21, 2019 8AM – Noon Meet at the Old Auburn-Foresthill Curved Bridge near the Confluence (3 miles below Auburn near the Highway 49 River Crossing) Upper North Fork Volunteers meet at Colfax-Iowa Hill Bridge Check in at the Protect American River Canyons information booth to register and receive your free Confluence Map, (first 25 volunteers, 1 per family), trash collection bags, water and snacks. Wear sturdy shoes, bring gloves and a water bottle. Free parking for volunteers. For more information contact the Auburn SRA office at 530-885-4527 or PARC at 530-885-8878. The cleanup is a river wide cleanup that focuses on the Auburn State Recreation Area. Protect American River Canyon’s
Free Paddle Safety & Junior Ranger Day Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 - 11 AM to 4 PM Upper-Lake Clementine Try out a variety of canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards suitable for rivers and lakes. River and lake paddling boats provided by Sierra Outdoor Center & Protect American River Canyons. Hands on Junior Ranger Activities focus on American River Ecology! For more information contact Guy at Sierra Outdoor Center 530-885-1844 or PARC at 530-885-8878. Directions: From I-80, take the Foresthill exit in Auburn. Drive 6 miles to the Upper Lake Clementine entrance to the Auburn State Recreation Area on the left. The event is free. There is a $10 per car Auburn SRA parking fee. NO dogs or alcohol. |
Auburn Community Harvest Festival
Saturday, October 19, 2019 - 10 AM-4 PM Recreation Park, 123 Recreation Drive, Auburn The Auburn Harvest Festival features giant pumpkin and scarecrow contests, quality live music, delicious food, arts, crafts and an opportunity to make a paper animal mask at the PARC/Canyon Keeper booth. |
