California Wild & Scenic designation will forever protect 16 miles of the North Fork American River from the Colfax-Iowa Hill Bridge to Upper Lake Clementine from being lost under a dam's reservoir.

The undammed free-flowing North Fork American River from its headwaters in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Upper Lake Clementine includes accessible deep scenic canyons with a mosaic of diverse, unique foothill plant and wildlife communities. Visitors enjoy fishing, hiking, swimming, whitewater boating, nature study, recreational gold panning and much more.

Some places are unique and irreplaceable - worthy of protection. California Wild & Scenic designation would help ensure continued funding for the Auburn State Recreation Area while protecting its unique and irreplaceable natural resources.

Dreams can come true. Support PARC so we can work towards making the Wild & Scenic American River a reality. Some ways to support this work are to join PARC or buy our new guidebook. Sign up to receive our email newsletter. You can also contact your elected officials.

We will be including action items on this website soon, so check back for updates.
