Saturday, May 10 (8:00 am to 1:00 pm)
Auburn Area Stage Coach and Robie Point Trail. Leader: Deren Ross (530-885-9740 or email sparrow@foothill.net). Visit two choice birding areas of Auburn's American River canyon rim. Many migrant birds.

Sunday June 8 ( 8:30 am to 11:00 am)
American River Confluence Festival at the American River Canyon Overlook Park. Hikes and
mountain bike rides featuring the ecology of the canyons. Schedule of Festival Events.

Saturday, June 14 (8:00 am to 2:00 pm)
Alta-Dutch Flat-Lovers Leap: Forest Birds. Leader: Deren Ross (530-885-9740 or email sparrow @foothill.net). Start at the Alta Reservoir then travel a short distance to the quaint historical mining town of Dutch Flat. The last leg of our easy birding trip will be spent overlooking the North Fork of the American River. Meet at the Placer County Court House in Auburn At 7:00 am. Second meeting in Colfax.

Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20 (optional overnight)
French Meadows-Placer Big Trees. Leader: Deren Ross (530-885-9740 or email sparrow @foothill.net). High Sierran birds. Visit Grouse Falls and the Placer Big Tree Grove on the first day with overnight camping at French Meadows. Friday birding around French Meadows Reservoir and the Middle Fork of the American River.
