PARC Supports Auburn Area Urban Forestry’s Arbor Day
|
Please call Bill Wauters at 530-878-0296
to coordinate for this event, or to indicate your support
for the A.R.D. "Adopt-A-Park" program.

| Last year the Auburn Area Urban Forestry
Group and the City of Auburn recognized the first Sunday in
November as Arbor Day here. Fall is the best planting time in
our climate. For this November 3, PARC will buy and plant at
least 10 native oaks at the American River Overlook in cooperation
with the Auburn Recreation District. Ground will be broken up
by a backhoe, with the ceremonial planting at 10:00 am on November
3. Holes can be pre-dug the day before or early in the morning.
It would be good to have at least one volunteer "responsible"
for each tree. |
October 20 & 21 Volkswalk In the Auburn State Recreation Area
|
The Placer Pacers are sponsoring a 10K volkswalk
in the Confluence Area from No Hands Bridge to Lake Clementine.
The walk follows a route traversed by stages traveling between
Auburn and Foresthill. Volkswalks are non-competitive walks
open to everyone. Walk at your own pace. Start between 8am and
1pm. Finish by 4pm. Check in at the Canyon Keepers tent at the
Confluence. For more information call Jim Farris @ 530 885-3776
or Ann Davis @ 530 885-6129.
