Festival Booths - explore PARC's shaded river village at the American
River Canyon Overlook filled with unique booths, entertainment and gourmet food.
Many of the booths will feature interactive demonstrations and displays promoting
the understanding and protection of our healthy American River Watershed.
9:00 am River Blessing - a brief river blessing ceremony led by Stan Padilla giving thanks for all the American River has to offer our community.
9:15 am White Wings Dove Release - celebrate the freedom of the river with a ceremonial release of doves. (530 823-3356)
RUN, RIDE, ROLL, & PADDLE
9:00 am Mountain Bike Ride - easy to moderate ride in the canyon rim area.
9:30 am Fun Run - a moderate run led by Western States Run founder Gordon Ainsleigh. Meet at the stage.
9:30 am Kids Treasures of the American River Ecology Hike - naturalist-led short hike into the canyons on the Western States Trail. Meet at River Stage.
Confluence Area Historic Bridges
Hike with the ASRA Canyon Keepers - explore the old bridge crossings of
the Confluence Area on this docent-led hike.
Check the Canyon Keepers festival booth for times.

Ongoing - come down to the river and paddle in Kayaks and rafts with
Outdoor Adventures UC Davis, Sierra Outdoor Center and Canyon Raft Rentals.

ON THE RIVER STAGE
10:00 am Auburn Community Band - a lively collection of Americana and popular tunes beyond description.
11:45 am Celebrating Susan Cooley-Gilliom's
artistic interpretation of the
river - White Wings Dove Release in memory of Susan's American River Legacy.

12:00 pm Einar Maisch, Director of Strategic Affairs for PCWA - Einar will give a progress update on the American River pump station, river restoration and tunnel closure.
12:30 pm Mini Auction - White water raft trip for two, two Aire inflatable Kayaks.
1:00 pm Saul Rayo and the Cocina del Mundo Band - fabulous world beat music.
3:30 pm The Pyronauts - Auburn-based instrumental surf-beat band rips up the afternoon.
5:00 pm Festival Closes for 2003.
