American River
Canyons. |
RiverWalk
7:00pm , The
Arts Building
Join abstract expressionist painter Sondra Hersh
and writer Joan Stockbridge in an evening's exploration
of the beauty of the present moment. Sondra and Joan
collaborated to create RiverWalk, an exhibit of painting
and haiku created out of their immediate experiences of
walking along the North Fork of the American
River. They will briefly describe their
collaboration and lead the audience through a lively,
playful experience of being present in the moment,
including fun writing and art activities. Suitable for
families with grade school age children as well as
adults.

Action
Arts
7:00pm, The
Arts Building
River Action Arts will be an interactive event of
American River inspired music, poetry, photography,
watercolor painting and raku ceramics. The community is
invited to take an evening to reconnect with the Sierra
Nevada's American River Wilderness. Explore the beauty
and complexity of the natural world that renews our
spirits, provides peace and solitude, presents physical
challenges and increases our understanding of our world.
Local artists participating include Juan Pena,
watercolorist; Dan DiDicco, Loping Wolf Cedar Flute
Ensemble; Brian Hassett, Poetry; Gary Hughes, digital
photographer; and Eric Peach, ceramic. Each artist will
offer interactive presentations of their recent works
that interpret their American River experiences. Join in
the creative process with these artists and learn more
about the American River!

Closing Reception for
Forever Free
7:00pm, The
Arts Building
Closing Reception for the participating
artists of Forever Free. Suzanne Grace-Rolle will
present "Flowing River Dance," an interpretive dance
about the American River Canyons. .

The Forever Free exhibition and events are
presented cooperatively by PlacerArts and Protect
American River Canyons (PARC).
